Sonship

Luke 15:31 – “My son, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.”

Sonship is not only about identity; it is about access. In the story of the prodigal son, the older brother lived in the Father’s house yet behaved like a servant who had to earn approval. The Father’s words in Luke 15:31 reveal the heart of God toward every man who is in Christ: you are not a distant worker, you are a son, and everything the Father has is already available to you. Sons do not beg for anything; they stand in the confidence that their Father is present, willing, and generous.

As sons, we do not live outside the gate of grace; we live in the walks of God’s love. When we as Christians understand sonship, we stop living for approval.  The older brother’s problem was not a lack of access but a lack of awareness. Many today struggle the same way, forgetting that through Christ we have full access to the Father’s presence, promises, and power. Child of God, walk with the assurance that you are not trying to earn what God has already given. You are a son, and everything the Father has is yours.
